Finally another Student Village event comes to UKZN PMB Campus, after… I don’t know how long, but all of that can now be forgotten- along with their magazine being distributed 2 months late on our campus. Today they put a band-aid on that by bringing us the Easy-Waves Promo, hosted by Jr, the Hip Hop hit maker of tracks such as Gata Le Na from his old album to his more recent Show ‘dem (make the circle bigger) and the Tequila song. He is still signed to Electromode Music and is currently working on a small project with Jack Parow the Afrikaans rapper from Parow, Cape Town. “It’s an 8 track something, we putting together,” said Jr. The two are looking at a release date in February for the album. Jr didn’t come alone to this promo, he brought with him the new kid in the Hip Hop industry in South Africa – Kwesta, who performed tight tracks like Stomp; some of his old tracks; flowed a bit and performed his recent single Take That. Signed to Buttabing Entertainment, he has been involved in many campaigns like the MTN World Cup anthem, Everywhere You Go. He also got nominated for the South African Music Awards (SAMA’s) for: Best New-comer and Best Rap Album, which solidified him as a tight MC in the industry. His current singles Babhemi and Pump It are being rotated on your local radio station’s track list. Be sure to support these two rappers by getting a copy of Jr’s Colourful or Kwesta’s Special Rekwesta.
There was a draw and two ladies got a ‘Pamper Party’ with ten of their friends to receive manicure and pedicure treatment on their hands and feet. The ladies shall also be taught how to make cocktails by Thirst, South Africa’s mobile cocktail bar kings.
